Lima
- Miraflores
In General
Lima
Peru is without question the financial and industrial hub of the
country,
It is a city rich in
culture and things to do and see.
Founded on January 18,
1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco
Pizarro and named
as City of Kings.
During the colonial time, it was the
most important city in South America,
located on the central western coast
and is known for
being covered in fog most of the year.
Is
a modern city which, while constantly expanding. Lima
gained primary importance in 1542, when it was declared the capital
of the Viceroyalty of Peru,
Lima is for sure
the entrance door to Peru.

Miraflores
District
Miraflores is the top tourist
district of Lima.
Is
one
of the 43 districts in the Peru Capital, but Miraflores it
was established officially as a district on 1857.
Miraflores
originally
founded as San Miguel de Miraflores.
The upscale neighborhood of Miraflores offers a nice
compliment for those seeking urban Peru at its finest.
Miraflores have everything that a tourist needs,
shopping, nightlife, good restaurants and is offers all the
tourist services, excellent and modern Hotels.
Miraflores hotels offering up some of the city’s most
luxurious accommodations. But cheap accomadation
is there too, I found an excellent Hostel with 10 dollars per day.
Miraflores -
Kennedy Park
The park is a small oasis among
tall buildings and the congested traffic for which Lima is famous.
It is located in Miraflores heart,
next to the church.
The Kennedy park is usually full of people,
musicians playing creole
music and
painters
are everywhere and try to sell their
paintings.

Miraflores -
The Parish Church
Lima
has many historical churches to visit and a
lot of Houses of God, where the mainly catholic
community can pray and live their religious life.
Parish Church is worth a careful visit.
It was built on the basis of an old church named San Miguel
de Miraflores, and was rebuilt after the
War of the Pacific. Is
a beautiful masterpiece of architecture located opposite to the
Parque Central. The church was build by the
Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski. Inside you
can see windows representing passages of Jesus' life.
The Beach And
Gaudinian 'Parque del
Amor
Miraflores
cliffs meant enjoying a wonderful landscape covered by pines.
It is a beautiful location overlooking the ocean.
Gaudinian 'Parque del Amor'
is located on the
cliffs,
this beautiful park basically made in the style used
by the catalan architect Gaudi in the Park Güell of Barcelona.
Many surfers
visit the beach as is one of
peru best surf spots.
For travelers that like adventure,
Parachuting
is there, so
you can join flights in Miraflores.

Miraflores Shopping
Lima
is the best place to buy your
traditional Peruvian handicrafts,
prices
are similar to those paid in the Andes
and
offers a wide variety of shopping experiences.
From
shopping malls to traditional Peruvian
markets. Also you have to know that
Gold and
Silver are mined and cheaper in Peru than most other countries.
First recommended place to buy
traditional Peruvian handicrafts
is Inca Market. The Inca Market is replete with
Peru blankets, silver accessories,
ceramics, clothes,
paintings and wood carvings. Always make a
bargain before buying something. Artesania Senor De Sipan is
also a good choice and is the same style with Inca Market.
Although is cheaper in some things. Larcomar
is a must see shopping center with
panoramic coastline view
and the futuristic Architecture. I
found it more
expensive but it have very nice
cafes, restaurants, cinemas
and modern shops.
Huaca Pucllana
Huaca Pucllana is a Pre-Incan temple complex which was used by
both the Wari and Lima cultures, was
described and studied by travelers and explorers since the 19th
century. Huaca Pucllana is located in the
middle of the fashionable district of Miraflores,
guided tours include a visit through the museum. Because of Huaca Pucllana
Archaeologist
have learnt a lot about the pre-Hispanic life of ancient Peruvians.
The main structure of the huaca is shaped like a pyramid. It was
built with small adobe bricks wrought on a continuous base of blocks
and remodeled during the three centuries of the Huaca existence.
The adobe structure has served as a
commercial, political and ceremonial center for several
civilizations over the last 1,500 years.
