Batur Volcano is located in north east Bali. Batur is one of the most impressive calderas in the world. Batour volcano is also a tourist attraction. Nearby the volcano is the Batur temple, also called the Ulun Danu temple, The temple buildings are grouped round a shrine dedicated to Dewi Danu, goddess of lakes and rivers. Historical eruptions have been characterized by mild-to-moderate explosive activity sometimes accompanied by lava emission. Batur Penelokan Village is opposite of the mountain, is a really beautiful village with a lot of shops and Balinese cuisine restaurants.
