come to Thailand for a week but falling in love with the country for
a life time, they fascinated with the Thai culture and way of life.
Thailand is the land of freedom and we going to guide you
step by step to this land starting with the
Bangkok the capital city.
Bangkok
Bangkok is divided from the Chao prahia river
in to a 2 large cities Bangkok and
Thonburi. The population in
Thailand is grow continuously in 90s it was 65.000.000 and in
2000 is more than 70.000.000 people. In capital they live about 12.000.000. The city of
Bangkok offers many interesting places to visit, the most
imported is the Grand Palace that was build in 1782, the temple of
Reclining Buddha, the Pat Pong night market and the Floating Market.
Religion and monarchy are the cornerstones of Thai culture is take
me a lot of years to understand Theravada Buddhism, but after a lot
of meditation and visits to the temples I found my way. The story of
Bangkok is starts in 1957 when Burma's forces attacked the
Thai capital of Ayutthaya, king Rama he took the full control
of the country and he decide to move and rebuild the capital in the
city of
Bangkok. The new capital is starts to be more important when
they make it the center of government and religion. Thailand
have many styles I'm going to live the quick city of Bangkok
and I will take you to the villages starting with
Buriram.
Buriram
From my trips to
Thailand I knew already 5 years Suttaoit and she invite me to
see the second marriage of her parents, a custom of Khmer that is
exist for many years so I follow her to Buriram. Buriram
is 410 klm far from Bangkok before a long time minorities of
Khmer they come and they create villages in south east Thailand,
cities like Surin, Sisakhet, Nagon Rahashima and Buriram is
where the Khmers living in Thailand. The word Buriram is mean
the town of happiness. The village that Suttaoit live with her
parents is 20 klm from the center of
Buriram. I come here to see with my own eyes the great
costume of Khmer, (when you build a new home then you should build
your life again), and this is the reason that the parents of
Suttaoit they going to married for a second time. The mother and all
of the women's of the village they was pray and give offers to the
spirits so the happiness come for the new home. The men's of the
village the was busy with me, they ask me if I want to be a Khmer.
They want to make me a tattoo of Khmer dragon with the tradition way
of sticks that is take me 3 days of pain to finish but when is
finish I was finally one Khmer. But everything is ready for the big
celebration and all the people of the village are welcome for that
reason they need a lot of rice and meat. After the dinner they come
all the monks from the temple for they pray all together for peace. The monk with the
white closes is the most imported men of the village. After the 3
rounds that we make as the costume says is come the time to put oil
to the legs of the holy men so he can step first to the house. I say
a thanks to Souttaoit that she invite me there so I fell one of the
most strong experience.
