Thailand - Pattaya
Pattaya History
Until the late 1950s
Pattaya was a small fishing village like many others in the
Gulf of Bangkok. With was called Pad Tha Ya. It was only knowing
from the 13 century that King Narai he use it as a resting place
from the Burmese battles. Much later came the Vietnam war.
Thailand supported the American effort in the area by
providing bases, manned by thousands of young Americans for rest and
recreation. Pad Tha Ya started to expand into a resort for American
GIs that they come from a base in Nakhon Ratchasima with plenty of
money to spend. And that was the birth of
Pattaya as a tourist resort. From that point on,
Pattaya grew very quickly as a holiday destination for both
Thais and foreigners. Many Thais, particularly from Bangkok, were
also regular visitors for the weekend, Pattaya City came into
being on 29th of November in 1978, and this anniversary is
celebrated every year. Today Pattaya is receives
several million visitors every year, both Thai and foreign.

Pattaya In General
Jomtien is the most famous beach in
Pattaya in many ways the beach is combine the culture of
Thailand. Local sellers they are everyware and they sell
almost everything an till the police is come and you see all
of them to ran a way. From south Pattaya an till Nakloua
the city is surrounding from pubs strip clubs and bars, the main
streets in Pattaya is the beach road and the second road and
between is small streets that they call soi the most famous
barstreets is the soi 7 soi 8 and the soi 2. In
the day the most of the working girls are sleeping so is
normal to see the half people out. What is
Pattaya ? my opinion is that is hell and paradise and I like
both ways many old ferang "this is how Thai people call the Westerns
that they stay long time" they say that is an adult Disneyland.
Anyway
Thailand is a really friendly place you need to don't stop
acting as you would in your on country but you should act as
an understanding and informed foreigner.

Soi Bokao Market
Is the biggest market. Here you can
find everything you need in very good price, the market is open every
Tuesday and Friday and is on the end of soi boakao street.
The market is separate in 2 areas the left and the right.
Some of the guys, that stay long time in Pa-taya, they always hang
around this market, the reason is the girls, and the cheap beers!
