The StupaKathmandu Bouddhanath Stupa is a world heritage site is a 36 meter high and located about 7 km east of Kathmandu. Is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. It stands on a massive mandala style platform, the stupa was built during the 5th century A.D.is the focal point of the Tibetan Buddhism, in Bouddhanath area There are more than 45 Buddhist Monasteries and a lot of shops, and restaurants. The history of the stupa starts back in 1950s When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet and many of them decided to live around Bouddhanath Stupa.
