Laos Vientiane
Vientiane In General
Laos is landlocked and shares the borders in the
north with China, in the east with Vietnam, in the south with
Cambodia and in the west with Thailand and Myanmar. Laos has
been known since ancient times as Lan Xang, or Land of the Million
Elephants. Compared to the other hectic, bustling capitals in Southeast Asia,
Vientiane's deliciously relaxing atmosphere makes it feel like the
small town it is. Vientiane is stretched out on the
eastern bank of the Mekong River. The unassuming capital, is
situated on its banks, and the city provides a comfortable
introduction to the charms of the country.

Pratouxai
Is the gate of triumph, the long stares they drive you to
the roof of this wonderful Arch. Is build to the memory of the
people that they die in the battles of revolution. They start
to build
Pratouxai in 1960 and is finish from the Americans
later on in 1962. When you are on the top you see all of the
Vientiane city.

Religion
Buddhism was the state religion of
the Kingdom of Laos. Lao
Buddhists belong to the Theravada tradition, based on the earliest
teachings of the Buddha and preserved in Sri Lanka after Mahayana
Buddhism branched off in the second century BC. the most important
temples is the Wat fat kao that is also a museum and the Wat si sa
ket that is the older in Vientiane.
History
The first rulers that come in
Laos they come in 13 century and
they was running a way from the raid of south west China with
emperor that time the great Mongolian Koumblai Han. In the middle of
14 century a few rulers they start to move in Loua Pra Bang so the
Kingdom start to split in 3 pieces the first in Loua Pra Bang , the
second in Vientiane and the third in Cha ba ma sang. In 18
century the biggest part of
Laos is dominate from Thailand and
in the same time its control of Vietnam. Impossible to serve 2
masters Lao is starting war against Siam in 1920, this energy is
make and the 3 Kingdoms in the full control of Thailand. In the end
of 19 century France colony was all ready installed in Indochina and
after the great new power Thailand have to remove and live the new
controllers in the country.
Laos is have been recognized as the
most bombing country in the history of wars and this is because of
Vietnam war. After the fall of Saigon in 1965 the most of the noble
colonials they return back to France and Laos is return back to the really owners in December
of 1975.

Wat Xieng Khouane
26 klm far from the center of Vientiane 30 min by car is
the famous Wat xieng khouane or like the most people know it
Buddha park, the temple is build in 1958 from one shaman yogi
monk that his name was Louang Pou, he have mix in his art the
Buddhism and Hindu philosophy and mythology. The legend says that he
was walking in to the mountains when he feel for a first time near
one cave the power of Rishy. He stay inside the cave and he
meditation for many years, he call the new holy place that he found
Kouan Kou that means the emerald cave. The statue is
symbolize the hell the earth and the paradise when you going in to
the mouth of the statue is symbolize the hell and in the top of the
roof is symbolize the paradise inside the statue there are warriors
and gods from the Hindu and Buddhism religion.

Vientiane City More
In the way back we stop in a small villages with small
markets and people that they symbolize the culture of Laos.
After the view in Mekong river I went for 2 hours of Lao massage,
that is almost like the Thai, with the only different that they
start from the Left leg to the right shoulder. The next day my
interest was limited in the center of the town and mainly in the
Lao National Mueum.

Laos National Museum
Lao national museum it was the only museum that is exist here, the excavations that
they make here bring to the light Paleolithic objects, after
researchers that the archaeologist have done they found Dinosaurs bones, the museum have also include a lot of black and
white photos of Hmong one of the older tribes here in Laos.
