Vientiane's most
visible sight is the Prataxui Monument,
stands proudly in the center of Vientiane.
In the style of the Arc De Triomphe in Paris, the
Patuxai Arc
is the gate of triumph for Indochina.
The long stares they drive you to
the roof of this wonderful Arch
where you can look out over the city. Is build to the memory of the
people that they die in the battles of revolution. They start
to build Patuxai
Arc in 1960 and is finish from the Americans
later on in 1962. When you are on the top you see all of the
Vientiane city.

first time that I was Vientiane there was not even an entry
fee.
But they chance
it now, today
with a few thousand kip you
can climb the stairs up to the
roof of the wonderful
monument.
The Name
Patuxai means, in Laotian, “Gate of Triumph.
The Patuxai
arc is now a popular
tourist attraction, and well worth a visit.
Patuxai Arc is
about 5 minutes walking distance from
the town centre and the monument is open
from 8am to 5pm. The best hours for a
visit are during the afternoon.
