places also to begin. Most have tables

Fontana
di Trevi is the most famous and arguably the most beautiful fountain
in all of Rome. This impressive monument dominates the small Trevi
square located in the Quirinale district. The fountain was built by
the architect Salvi (1735) in the time of Clement XII, and decorated
by several artists of Bernini's school. It is the front of a large
palace (Palazzo Poli) decorated with statues and bas-reliefs on
heaps of rocks.
The fountain is not only celebrated for its excellent water but for
the legend that whoever drinks it or throws a coin in the fountain,
will assure his return to Rome.

Vatican City
Vatican City
is the last Papal state in existence and the temporal seat of the
Pope, of the worldwide Catholic Church.
Vatican City is the world's
smallest state with only 880 people, but is one of the most
visited places around the world, and this
is mainly because it is in the middle of Rome and the 14.4 acres are
packed with some of the world's most beautiful churches and museums.
Although Vatican City is an independent country, it is completely
surrounded by the city of Rome. This center of Roman Catholicism is
a must-see. Located
near the west bank of the Tiber River and to the west of the Castel
Sant'Angelo.
I was lucky the day that I visit Vatican was the day that
Pope Benedict XVI Joseph Alois Ratzinger,
He visit as well Vatican. sometimes I don't know if I'm lucky or
this is my destiny, to be on the right place on the right time.
A huge
crowd was complete surrounded Pope. The gentle atmosphere of
Vatican city was great.

Vatican Museums
The Vatican Museums comprise the papal apartments of the medieval
Apostolic Palace decorated with frescoes during the Renaissance.
The decoration of the palace and of the adjacent Sistine Chapel
constitutes a unique ensemble of the pictorial art of the
Renaissance, from the time of that cultural movement's origin until
its full maturity in the second half of the 16th century. The
founding of the Vatican Museums can be traced back to 1503 when the
newly-elected Pope, Julius II della Rovere, placed a statue of
Apollo in the internal courtyard of the Belvedere Palace.
Secrets Of The Vatican
For many years now is a lot of legends about the
Vatican. The stories tell about the powers
the mysteries and the
Secrets archive of the Vatican. Some people even believe that there are hidden passageways, rooms
and secret libraries underneath of the
Vatican city.

St.
Peter's Basilica
The
Basilica of St. Peter is in the heart
of the Vatican City,
This great building is the center of christianity. The opulence of
the building's interior bears testimony to the wealth of the
catholic church in the 16th century.
The Basilica
stands on the foundations of the Constantinian basilica, that stood
for over a thousand years on a sacred area of Pagan-Christians
mausoleums.
Emperor
Constantine, the first Christian emperor of Rome, ordered to build a
basilica on Vatican Hill. The location was symbolic: this was the
place where Saint Peter, the chief apostle, was buried in 64 A.D. A
small shrine already existed on the site but it was now replaced by
a new building church that was completed around 349 A.D.

Colosseum
The Colosseum or Flavian
was built in Rome, Italy, about 1920 years ago.
Amphitheater was begun by Vespasian, inaugurated by Titus in
80 A.D. and completed by Domitian. Located on marshy land between
the Esquiline and Caelian Hills. After the
splendour of imperial times, the Colosseum was abandoned, and in
turn it became a fortress for the medieval clans of the city, a
source of building materials, a picturesque scenery for painters,
and a
place of Christian worship. Today it is a challenge for the
archaeologists and a scenario for events and shows.
The Colosseum is
probably the most impressive building of the Roman empire.
For me the journey to Rome was a journey in knowledge. There that
the medieval Christianity was bring the chaos. And there that
Renaissance light began.
