Colosseum
- Flavian
The
Colosseum or Flavian
was built in Rome, Italy, about 1920 years ago.
Amphitheater was begun by Vespasian, inaugurated by Titus in
80 A.D. and completed by Domitian. Located on marshy land between
the Esquiline and Caelian Hills. After the
splendour of imperial times, the Colosseum was abandoned, and in
turn it became a fortress for the medieval clans of the city, a
source of building materials, a picturesque scenery for painters,
and a
place of Christian worship. Today it is a challenge for the
archaeologists and a scenario for events and shows.
The
Rome Colosseum is
probably the most impressive building of the Roman empire.

What The New Age Traveler Says...?
Rome
Colosseum Or Flavian.
The Colosseum
is probably the most impressive landmark of
Rome.
was the largest Roman amphitheater in the world
and is one of
the best archeological monuments I never see. It is
considered an architectural and engineering wonder.
The elliptical building is immense, measuring
188 meters by 156
meters and reaching a height of more than 48 meter.
For me the journey to Rome was a journey in knowledge. There that
the medieval Christianity was bring the chaos. And there that
Renaissance
light began in
the world.
