Rhodes Lindos
Rhodes Lindos Guide
Lindos, is the main tourist
destination on the island. The village is famous for its Acropolis.
Lindos town, which is located 50 km southeast of Rhodes town,
has a population of 1,000 people. It is one of the most interesting
archaeological sites in Rhodes and it attracts thousands of visitors
from all over the world.
Lindos was famous in ancient times for its naval force.
Getting to Lindos is easy and very inexpensive, no matter
where you are staying. Taxis and busses are very reasonable too.
Lindos can also be reached by boat from
the Mandraki harbor.
A road leads high up to the acropolis, and if
you wish to avoid the tiring climb you can hire a donkey at the
entrance of the town.
Lindos has as varied a nightlife as
it does dining scene. The bars & restaurants
here can seat you in either a shady terrace down at street level, or
up up the roof. Lindos has a wealth
of different bars catering to all tastes.
There are so many bars in Lindos it
would be impossible for one
person to list them all and
there are
few bars and clubs that remain open until
the early hours of the morning. Below the old
town, on the road down to Pallas Beach, there are two open-air clubs
for late-night dancing, Nama and Acropolis, while a third,
Amphitheatre, lies on the crest of the hill as one enters Lindos on
the road from Kalathos.
