Filerimos Hill
Filerimos Hill
Filerimos is a
hill 15 km away from Rhodes-town, in the ancient city of
Ialysos once stood on the slopes of Mountain Filerimos. Today the
site contains outstanding archeological sites.
Filerimos means "lover of solitude" after the 10th-century
settlement here by Byzantine hermits. Filerimos
Hill
and the surrounding area are steeped in history, the place was
restored by the Italians and British. The
monastery that standing
there is dates from the rule of the Knights. A short walk
from the monastery and archeological zone we came across the "Way of
the Cross", with 14 stations marked out in copper plaques that lead
to an enormous concrete crucifix. for a truly amazing view.
The views from the mountain stretch from hillside
to villages nestling in their foothills, sweeping down to the coastline and
Turkey on the blue horizon.

Rhodes
Filerimos Hill,
Rhodos is one of the stars of the Mediterranean. The
Filerimos Hill of Rhodes is
one of my favorites places in Greece. Is the
place that you can view all Rhodos...
The remains of the temple of Zeus and
Athena Polias are at the highest point of the Filerimo hill.
Rhodes
Filerimos Hill Is in the
south of Rhodes town
and is daily bus service
going there. For me Filerimos Hill is a worth a visit
as is one of Rhodos main attractions.
